I am honored to work as the Director of the Educational Opportunity Center. I am a graduate of a small rural school in Talladega County called Winterboro. I graduated from Troy with my Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Psychology. My husband was in the military so we spent 20 years moving around the country. We retired in Enterprise and have made it our home for the last 13 years. I have worked at ESCC with Student Support Services for the last eight years. I believe that every student should have access to education, and am passionate about helping individuals overcome any barriers they might have to completing secondary education or enrolling in higher education.

I am proud to serve as a director of the Student Support Services program here at ESCC and help students navigate their higher ed experience. I am a Graceville (Fl)High School graduate, and I attended the University of West Florida for my bachelor’s degree and obtained my master’s in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University. TRIO programs strive to serve students in a way that increases graduation and transfer opportunities. We believe #TRIOWorks not only as a slogan but as a mission…

Welcome to ESCC and potentially to the TRIO family!

TRiO truly does work! As a graduate of Troy University, having earned a bachelor’s in Social Work and master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I must say that I am a proud first-generation college graduate and TRiO Student Support Services (SSS) alum. I have spent the last 15 years in the helping field, to include working with diverse groups from various cultural backgrounds in the private and public sectors. With over six years of working with college students in SSS, I am honored to continue forwarding the TRiO mission by working with a dynamic team to prepare 8th-12th grade students for the successes of high school graduation and life thereafter.

“There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.” – Colin Powell
