ESCC Hosts Home School Science Fair
ESCC HOSTS HOME SCHOOL SCIENCE FAIR
Enterprise, AL, February 8, 2012 - Enterprise State Community College hosted and judged Faith Academy Home School’s first science fair on February 7, 2013, in the ESCC Student Center. Seven students, ranging from first to seventh grades, participated and entries were judged by Jonathan Catrett, ESCC Biology Instructor.
“When I was younger, I remember the science fair at my elementary school,” said Catrett. “I had a science teacher that was very influential in encouraging my career as a science instructor. This was my opportunity to give back to encourage children at a young age to not only grow an interest in the field of science but to see ESCC and how continuing their education can be a fun experience.”
In addition to their science fair, the students also received a tour by the ESCC Ambassadors and listened to The Entertainers perform.
“We were so excited to have our first science fair,” said Anne Cline, Science Fair Coordinator. “And we are so appreciative to Mr. Catrett and Enterprise State for allowing us to enhance our students’ education by exposing them to a college as well as have professional judging.”
