Montgomery, AL April 2012  – Enterprise State Community College and the Alabama Aviation Center is proud to announce the two All-Alabama Academic recipients: Ciera Pilcher of Chancellor, Alabama and Kristian Weed of Ozark, Alabama.

“It’s great to see these students get honored in such a way for their hard work and academic achievements,” said Dr. Matthew Hughes, ESCC Dean of Academics. “We’re very proud of our students and are pleased to honor them and recognize their achievements.”

Pilcher and Weed were honored last week in Montgomery by the Alabama Commission on Higher Education.  They were among 50 two-year college students named to the All-Alabama team.

“I never had anything like this happen to me before,” said an emotional Weed. “I am just so grateful to all of the staff, especially Dr. Ford, our Director of Student Support Services.”

Weed is a husband and father of two small children.

All-Alabama Academic Team students are nominated by their respective colleges. Students selected must possess a minimum GPA of 3.25, be involved in campus activities and have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours at the institution.
