ALABAMA AVIATION CENTER A UNIT OF ENTERPRISE STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE TO HOST STATEWIDE ALABAMA LEADERSHIP ACADEMY IN OZARK

OZARK, AL, February 7, 2012  - Enterprise State Community College Alabama Aviation Center will host the Alabama Community College Leadership Academyon February  9, 2012 at 8:30am in the ATTC building room 219 on the Ozark Campus.

The Leadership Academy is composed of two-year college employees who have been designated by their President as future leaders. The Academy provides a variety of learning experiences led by various experts on topics related to leadership and administration. The core curriculum is arranged according to six major themes including: foundations of leadership; policy and governance; administration and finance; teaching and learning; student services and development; and leadership for change.

ESCC Adult Education Director Terri Dunn is the 2011/2012 participant on behalf of the College.

“I'm proud of our institution and pleased that we'll have this opportunity to showcase our programs,” said Terri Dunn. “I know the participants will leave our college with a deeper understanding of the role our institution plays…in building a qualified workforce to support the aviation industries in Alabama.”

AAC campuses are  located in Enterprise, Ozark and Mobile with sites in Ft. Rucker, Albertville, Decatur and Andalusia.

The Mission of ESCC is to serve students and communities by providing educational opportunities that enhance quality of life and promote economic development.

ALABAMA COMMUNITY COLLEGE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

The Alabama Community College Leadership Academy, established in 2000, is co-sponsored by The University of Alabama Colleges of Education and Continuing Studies in cooperation with the Alabama Community College System, The University of Alabama System, and the Alabama Commission on Higher Education. 

Its mission is to prepare community college leaders by enhancing their leadership and management skills for an environment of change and to promote active partnership within postsecondary education.
