AAC NAMES DEAN/SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE PRESIDENT FOR AVIATION & WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
Ozark, AL May 3, 2012– Alabama Aviation Center, a unit of Enterprise State Community College, announces Tucson Roberts as the Dean and Special Assistant to the President for Aviation and Workforce Development.
“His years of experience in aviation and economic development are a great asset to Enterprise State Community College,” said Dr. Nancy W. Chandler, ESCC President.
Robert’s left the position of President and CEO of the Covington County Economic Development to take the newly added position on the Ozark AAC campus. This position fills the vacancy of newly retired Dean of Aviation, Tom Kirk.
“Covington County is a very special place and it was a difficult decision for me to leave after ten years. However, the position at the Alabama Aviation Center is a very special opportunity and I look forward to partnering with aviation supporters in our communities,” said Roberts.
Roberts will develop the Alabama Aviation Centers, serve existing industries, assist economic developers to recruit aviation industries to the area, and ensure that they have an adequately trained workforce.
Roberts received a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts in Anthropology, Master of Science in Geography, and an Urban and Regional Planning Certificate from the University of Alabama.
AAC has five locations statewide including Ozark, Andalusia, Mobile, Decatur, and Albertville. For more information about programs offered at the Alabama Aviation Centers, call (334) 347-2623. Registration for Aviation-related summer classes is currently underway. Classes begin May 29, 2012.
