POSITION:

Continuing Education Instructors – Part-Time

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma/GED
  2. Strong interpersonal skills and aptitude to work with people at many different levels
  3. Ability to perform required computerized tasks to include any combination of word processing, e-mail, internet, or web-based applications
  4. Excellent and effective oral and written communication skills and abilities with all levels of the organization internal and external to students to program directors and Administrators
  5. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers at all levels of the organization.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Position responsible for teaching Continuing Education/Community Interest classes. Continuing Education/Community Interest Instructors are hired in a part-time capacity contingent upon the needs of the department. Classes are offered during daytime, evenings, and weekends as well as some College holidays. Classes are offered at various times and locations during the academic year.

SALARY:

L $250 – $400 per class; depending on education and experience

Employment will be contingent upon receipt of a clearance notification from a criminal background check. The candidate hired will be responsible for the nonrefundable minimum cost of $17.40 for the criminal background investigation. Additional charges may apply.

Job Summary:

Position responsible for teaching Continuing Education/Community Interest classes. Continuing Education/Community Interest Instructors are hired in a part-time capacity contingent upon the needs of the department. Classes are offered during daytime, evenings, and weekends as well as some College holidays. Classes are offered at various times and locations during the academic year.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Teaches program specific Continuing Education courses.
  2. Develops CE curriculum for specified/selected classes.
  3. Collaborates with CE Director to develop CE schedules.
  4. Teaches courses at a variety of times and locations, including evening and weekends.
  5. Serves as a community resource person and represents the college to outside groups when requested.
  6. Submits required college reports and forms.
  7. Develops and utilizes a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines.
  8. Provides timely, quality access to students through electronic communication, or other appropriate method.
  9. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned.*Any one position may not include all of the tasks listed nor do the examples necessarily include all of the tasks performed.
