The Alabama Community College System provides scholarship funding for specific high wage, high demand degree programs.

DUAL ENROLLMENT CAREER TECHNICAL EDUCATION (CTE) SCHOLARSHIP

Student Eligibility for Dual Enrollment Career Technical Education Scholarships
The student must be in the 10th, 11th, or 12th grade and have a 2.0 GPA or higher for most technical programs.  Students participating in Dual Enrollment HIT, RPT, and CIS must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.  Approval from the high school counselor or the home school director is also required. All students receiving scholarships must meet established placement criteria as determined by appropriate ACT, SAT, or placement exam scores.  Approval from secondary school officials indicates that the student has demonstrated both academic readiness and social maturity.

Continuous Eligibility
Students who fail to meet the minimum grade requirement or withdraw from a course will be suspended from the program for a minimum of one term. The one-term suspension may not be served during the summer. The student may not re-enroll until the suspension has been served. For re-entry, the student must reapply to the program and meet the minimum grade point average requirement of 2.0 or higher.

Each student who receives a Dual Enrollment Technical Scholarship must have declared a technical program of study. Only courses required for that program of study will be eligible for scholarship funds.
Dual enrollment technical scholarship funds may be used to cover required technical courses and required academic courses (English, math, and science).

Depending on the availability of funding, dual enrollment technical scholarship funds may be used to cover tuition, textbooks, and supplies, as well as the needs of the individual student and the requirements of the technical classes.  The scope of each scholarship is determined by available funding and scholarship grant guidelines.  Costs covered will be determined on an individual basis.

Scholarship funds are contingent upon allocations by the Alabama Legislature. Enterprise State has received technical scholarship grants since the program was initiated by the state, however, future grant awards are not guaranteed and will depend on availability of funding through the Alabama Workforce Development program.

Students should review the list of eligible Career and Technical Education Programs to ensure their program of interest is approved.
