Community Education

Enterprise State Community College offers several Community Education classes each year. To learn more about these classes, course topics, dates, and locations, please visit our website or call 1-334-347-2623.

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR CLASSES?
You can complete your registration form by clicking on the link below, or register in person in Wallace Building, room 223. Acceptable forms of payment are cash, check, or credit card (Visa and MasterCard). Payment must be made in person through our Business Office, located in the Wallace Building.

Refunds: Sometimes we may need to cancel a course due to insufficient enrollment. You will be contacted if a cancellation occurs. Remember to register early to help us avoid cancelling a class. If a course is cancelled, all persons enrolled will be notified and full refunds will be made. Anyone who registers and then decides to withdraw may request a refund. A 100% refund will be made if a written request is received by the close of business on the Friday before the Community Interest course for which you are registered begins. A 75% refund will be made if a written request is received by Noon on the first day of the Community Interest course. After that time, NO refunds will be made. Written requests may be faxed to (334) 393-6223 or emailed to communityed@escc.edu.

ENTERPRISE CAMPUS

Advanced Computer Skills
This is an intermediate skills computer class designed for individuals with moderate computer experience. Students will learn to upgrade and install new hardware and software in a Windows PC. This class will introduce how to upgrade and reinstall your Windows operating system. This class teaches you how to choose, install and maintain anti-virus software for your computer. Instruction will include proper backup and computer maintenance techniques. At the conclusion of this 6 week course, students should know and understand more about the operating system of their computer and how to protect and maintain their personal computers.

Enterprise State Community College has partnered with ed2go to offer many new online continuing education courses. They are 6-week courses designed as fundamental or exploratory courses designed for you to learn a new hobby or brush up on a skill. We are also offering online Career-Training courses. The Career-Training courses can take 6-12 months to complete. Once completed, these Career-Training courses provide educations and skills needed for that particular trade.

Basic Pistol/Gun Safety Course
This course will teach you how to operate revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. You will learn about different ammunition types, about care and maintenance and you will get to practice operating unloaded pistols. Also, we will teach you the correct shooting stances, the proper fit and grip and the five fundamentals of accurate shooting. Last, you will take everything you have learned and apply them to a live firing exercise using the proper fundamentals of shooting. Whether you are a beginner or even of you are an experienced shooter, but have never had formal instruction, this course will help you get on track to more accurate shooting.

This is an 8 hour course. First night you will meet at the college for 3 hours of classroom time. Saturday morning you will meet at Tri-State Gun Club for practical/hands-on. Please contact us at 334-347-2623, ext. 2340 or email at communityed@escc.edu with any questions.

Requirements: Must be 21 years old, bring own serviceable handgun and 150 rounds of suitable ammunition

Civilian Response to Active Shooter Event – CRASE
Since 2002, the Advance Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) ® Program at Texas State University has been used to train law enforcement officers across the nation in how to rapidly respond to dangerous active threat situations. Ove the years, we’ve seen response times shorten and the capabilities of law enforcement increase. As a result of the increased public awareness, many citizens have asked what individuals can do to protect themselves and reduce the dangers faced during one of these events. Avoid / Deny / Defend® has been developed as an easy to remember method for individuals to follow. As we’ve seen, hiding and hoping isn’t a very effective strategy.

The Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) Program
The R.A.D Program is a woman’s self-defense ad awareness training program. It is an internationally recognized, proactive, physical defensive tactics-training program provided to females around the nation. The R.A.D. Program’s instructional objective is to develop and enhance the options of self-defense, so they become viable consideration to the women who might be attacked. R.A.D. is a 12-hour course, that we have broken up into (4) 3 hour classes.

Refuse To Be a Victim
This course includes classroom instruction on criminal psychology, automobile crimes, cyber safety, home security and a variety of crime prevention strategies including carjacking avoidance techniques, use of personal safety devices and more. Students will receive the NRA Refuse to Be a Victim® student handbook, brochure, firearms supplement and course completion certificate.

This is not a firearms course and does not include instruction in physical combat self-defense. This course teaches common weaknesses that criminals may take advantage of and a variety of corrective measures that are practical, inexpensive and easy to follow.
