At ESCC, we believe college is for everyone who wants a path to something better. The Federal TRIO Programs are educational opportunity outreach programs designed to motivate and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds. TRIO includes eight outreach and support programs targeted to serve and assist low-income, first-generation college students, and students with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to post-baccalaureate programs. TRIO also includes training for program directors/coordinators and staff to encourage the replication or adaptation of successful practices of TRIO programs at institutions and agencies that do not have TRIO grants.

Enterprise State has three TRIO Programs: Student Support Services, Educational Talent Search, and Educational Opportunity Center.

Educational Opportunity Center (EOC)

The purpose of the Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) is to find and identify students who have dropped out of high school or who never attended/didn’t complete post-secondary training and who wish to return to school. The program philosophy is that all individuals should have equal access to secondary completion and postsecondary enrollment. The program aims to assist individuals in overcoming barriers to education and is funded by a Department of Education TRIO Grant. We are funded to serve 850 students annually from Coffee, Geneva, Dale, and Houston counties, two-thirds of whom must be low-income and first-generation students. The program also seeks to work with veterans, active-duty military, and their families.

Educational Talent Search

Enterprise State and Educational Talent Search are here to help you. Talent Search is a free program that provides academic, career and financial counseling to economically disadvantaged youth in grades six through twelve, and supports them in graduating from high school and continuing on to complete their postsecondary education.

Through Talent Search, we can help you make decisions NOW that will positively impact your future.

Student Support Services

Student Support Services (SSS) is funded by the U.S. Department of Education. It is designed to provide supportive services to educationally disadvantaged and disabled participants to enhance their skills and increase their retention and graduation rates from college. Participants in the Student Support Services Program should have educational potential and be willing to attend counseling and tutoring sessions.
