Online Students – Last Date of Attendance

The Department of Education issued new rules regarding reporting last date of attendance (LDA) for students enrolled in online classes. The Department of Education defines the LDA as:

“the last date the student participated in an online discussion or made contact with a faculty member”.

Consequently, beginning Fall Semester 2011, this new rule applies when assigning grades. Students who receive a grade of "F" must be assigned a last date of attendance. This date must be the date the student participated in an online discussion or made contact with a faculty member, not the last time the student logged into the class.
